The selected plant height is combined with the plant type to estimate recommended spacing.

The calculator places plants in a rectangular grid while keeping them inside the bed.

Bed length and width determine the area and how many plants can fit at the recommended spacing.

How should I use the result?

Use it as a planning estimate. Final spacing can vary with cultivar, site conditions and the look you want.

Can I enter a custom spacing?

Not yet. The calculator currently derives spacing from plant type and mature height.

Does it support irregular beds?

Not in this version. The calculator currently lays out plants in rectangular beds.

How is the recommended spacing determined?

Wiyard combines the selected plant category with mature height, then applies built-in minimum and maximum spacing limits.
